Ferry from Buenos Aires (Buquebus or Colonia Express, 1 hour by fast ferry, 3 hours by conventional boat). Also accessible by car/bus from Montevideo (2 hours by highway).

Autumn (March-May) and spring (September-November) with ideal temperatures. Summer is peak season with more tourism. Winter is quiet but cool.

Temperate oceanic climate. Warm summers (22-30°C), cool winters (7-14°C). Frequent river winds. Rainfall distributed year-round.
